Call for papers
Dear Sir/Madame,

We would like to invite you to the International Conference ”Alcoholism and Other Addictions: Psychosocial, Therapeutical, Historical and Economical Issues”.
The conference will take place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, at Faculty of Sociology and Social Work of Babeº-Bolyai University, 21 Decembrie 1989 Street, no 128-130 (but the entrance from Anghel Saligny Street).

The conference is organized by the Babeº-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca and his partners, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Herstelgroep Nederland, University of Applied Sciences Leiden, Netherlands and Economic Psychology International Association.

The aim of the conference:

The overall aim of this multi-disciplinary conference is to bring together specialists from different branches of science and countries, academics and expert practitioners, in order to present their research and practical results, to promote an interdisciplinary dialog on topics related to the different issue of addictions, alcoholism and all other addiction, on psychosocial, therapeutical historical and economical issues.
We are mainly interested to stimulate scientific research in addictions and encourage new policies and more effective practice in the field.

Topics of the conference:

We welcome original research papers, case studies, ongoing projects and presentations on topics including, but not limited to, the following areas:

1.
Sociological, psychological, medical and anthropological patterns of addictive behavior;
2. Cultural and spiritual issues in addiction; the multicultural and transcultural perspectives;
3. Individual, familial and social impact of addictive behavior in a multiperspective view;
4. Economical impact of addictive behavior and public policy interventions;

5. Social control and public policy concerning alcohol and other drugs/other addictions, in regards to their production, trade, consumption, addiction (prevention, therapy, rehabilitation);

6. History of alcohol and other drugs/other addictions, concerning their production/practice, using and addiction;
7. Good practice models in the addiction approaching: old and new challenges;
8. Prevention, therapy, rehabilitation and social-professional re-integration in addictions.
9. New drugs and new other addictions in the contemporary world.

Conference format:

The program will feature a plenary section keynote lectures and specific sections presentations will run for 15 minutes to be followed by 10 minutes of questions, answers and discussion.
Conference will include special workshops and, also, poster session’s presentation. Conference papers can be also presented online.

The languages of the conference is English and Romanian

Publishing opportunities:

The presented papers will be published in a special number of The Romanian Sociology Review (Sociologie Romaneasca) and/or in a book, at Eikon &Scoala Ardeleana Publishing House, after they will be evaluated through a peer-review.

The accommodation, meals and transportation:

The organizers will provide and will cover coffee breaks, also the printed conference folder and all utilities concerning halls and facilities necessary for the conference. Participants must cover their own travel and accommodation costs. We offer the possibility of accommodation at very advantageous costs, for academics and professionals in the Hotel Universitas of BBU and for students in student dormitories of the BBU.

Authors, presenters are required to register, by sending the abstract of the presentation, at

Abstract (up to 400 words), in English language, is required following this order:
i) author(s); ii) affiliation; iii) presenter(s); iv) email address; v) title of abstract; vi) up to 6 keywords; vii) body of abstract (purpose and objectives, conceptual-theoretical background, methodology, results, general conclusion and practice implications).
E-mails should be entitled: The International Conference in Addiction, BBU 2017.

Informing on receipt of abstract and outcome the review deadline: three days after receiving but no later November, 9, 2017.

Registration and participation fee:

Participants are required to pay a fee of 60 EUR for each participant /accepted paper; if are two or more authors and two or more participants the fee is 50 EUR each one. For students no fee/free.

Registration fee transfer deadline: till November, 8, 2017.
The fee is to be transferred to the bank account of The International Conference in Addiction, BBU 2017, at Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in EUR or LEI (the transfer day rate, equivalent in EUR).
